Last week we spoke to Greg to find out the latest on the long awaited Proud Mary album and his plans for next year.

First of all Greg was really excited to explain the situation regarding the new Proud Mary album.  He said that his trip to LA in September went really well and that they are working on 13 tracks for the new album.  5 of those 13 tracks are finished and he will return to LA in the new year, hopefully mid-February to finish work on the remaining tracks. 

The sessions took place at the Ravenswork Studio on LA, and that is also where the album will be mixed and mastered.  The record will feature a mix of Greg and Paul songs and has been produced by Eric Ryan.  It is hoped to finish the album as soon as possible so that it can be released and toured next year.  It is unclear as to what the band line-up will be but Paul's band has been used on the recording sessions so far.

Greg has described the album as "more complete" with a real "American influence" to it.  Also whilst in LA to finish the album Greg hopes to play some gigs with Paul and his band to try out the new material live.  There are a number of photos and videos from the recording sessions and we are working to get hold of those so that you can see them.  Once they do emerge it is most likely that they will be put on the official Proud Mary MySpace so keep checking that for the latest updates.

In terms of his own material, Greg has confirmed that there are no plans to release his previously recorded solo album.  There are a few copies still available to purchase but those which are out there are all that are in existence.  Some of Greg's songs will feature on the new Proud Mary album in a re-recorded format but in the meantime Greg will play a series of live shows early next year (detailed in the previous news post - http://www.proudmary.co.uk/articleview.asp?id=164 ).

Finally Greg thanked all Proud Mary fans for their continued support and patience.  He appreciates that it has been frustrating waiting for new material but that also applies to himself and Paul. Greg says that he has tried to fill the Proud Mary void with his solo shows and has been really impressed with the level of support shown for him so far.  He ended the call by wishing all Proud Mary fans a great Christmas with the hope of seeing you all at a Proud Mary show next year.
